Getting UW Madison Credit for Your Course
There are five steps to registering for UW Madison credit. Please read through the directions for each step carefully. Telephone “HELP” numbers are provided for each step if you have any problems. We hope you enjoy your course!

Step 1: Getting admitted to UW Madison as a Special Student

Have questions about the status of your application? Having trouble completing the online application? Contact the Adult and Student Services Center, 608-263-6960.
Step 2: Registration authorization
Since WisTEP courses are closed to undergraduates and only open to teachers, you must obtain authorization to register by contacting either Ruth Owens (reowens@wisc.edu, 608-262-1006) or Kevin Niemi (kjniemi@wisc.edu, 608-262-5480). We will need your student ID number in order to give you permission in the system to register.

Step 4: Enrolling in your Class (Remember to contact Ruth or Kevin first for authorization)
